The brief

The Heart Foundation ACT was looking for support to produce and event manage major components of their annual charity gala ball.

The event is a major fundraising activity for the Heart Foundation’s annual heart health programs, research and initiatives. The event is also an opportunity to thank loyal supporters, increase the engagement of existing supporters and raise the profile of the good work of the Heart Foundation in the Canberra community.

Our work

The team at Earlybird was tasked with delivering major components of the event including event theming, concept development and execution, the event set up and pack up and running of the evening’s proceedings, and the design and production management of all event collateral (invitations, tickets and event program).

Our team was also responsible for food and beverage management – including sourcing beverage sponsors and working with the Heart Foundation’s sponsorship manager to ensure the smooth running of the evening’s fundraising activities.

We also worked with the Heart Foundation team to attract sponsorship and attendance at the event from regular donors and supporters, prominent local identities and Canberra business owners.

Results

Guests on the night were extremely complimentary about the spectacular setting and theming of Albert Hall and reported the ball was one of the most enjoyable to date. Another key performance indicator was the success of fundraising efforts on the night, which in this case exceeded expectations of the Heart Foundation.

The gala dinner has a 10-year history and the Heart Foundation aspires for it to be one of the top five charity balls in Canberra, our involvement was instrumental in helping to build the profile of the ball and making it an appealing cause for individuals and businesses to attend and donate to.
